Hi dear TIDBTW, today I want to share a quote that has the power to change the way I dress. I recently came across the wardrobe report 2025 by
. On page 7 it says:“Over a third of our wardrobe was bought in the last year, and nearly ¾ was bought in the last 3 years.”
There are obviously other interesting (and unsettling) observations in this report (you should check it out!), but somehow this particular data really stuck with me. It felt personal. When I’m thinking I have and wear a lot of clothes for years and years already, how long exactly are we talking?
In this new weekly edit I’m finally putting in some extra effort to rewear some overlooked things, putting attention to when I purchased them. And why I (still) like them. I want to know! And try to recreate the trends I’m currently craving before buying into them.
Here is what I rewore this week, to work, dressed up for cute (lunch) meetings and just to feel comfy. Are you with me?
HUND HUND trench and H&M sweats

Story behind the look: playground! If I look tired it’s because I am. No daycare for 10 days in a row and I pulled myself together to get some fresh air for me and our toddler. Bought a giant pain au chocolate and a coffee and then we sat in the sand and that sugar high was the best decision of the week. I swear I looked happier after. I then had to take my newly reloved HUND HUND trench (2021) to the dry cleaner; mysteriously some fat stains appeared. Pray for it. So this is the look I described last week, super super lazy yet the trench layer and the leather add some polish. We’re good!
UNIQLO jacket & CAES silk trousers

Story behind the look: finally back in the studio, finally back to work and finally able to wear something a little more refined. Nothing kicks off a week like a feel-good look. Ever since I met Nisi at an art opening a few weeks ago, I couldn’t stop thinking about the windbreaker she was wearing. So easy, fun and elegant! Her latest reel and a particularly chilly coffee meeting sent me over the edge: I needed a jacket. I needed that jacket! I wanted it because someone I like made it look flawless. Plus, losing my vintage leather blouson has left a serious hole in that sartorial corner, I mostly run on (winter) coats and blazers. I went on my trusted secondhand platforms, nothing satisfying. So I got the original one (Uniqlo, 59,95 €, item #11 in 2025, we need to talk) and I have to stop myself from wearing it EVERY DAY. It’s that good. And actually might come in handy this summer on the island of Fehmarn for wind, cycling and everything. For now I will wear it with tailored trousers on repeat, but also skirts, leggings, shorts, you name it. I went for a size small while I would usually buy Large – but here I like the cropped and more fitted look. Dare I say sexy!? Sometimes one new item (if vintage, even better) truly unlocks a whole series of clothes that you already have and gives you all these new styling ideas: for this day I chose the CAES trousers (ok, that’s a recent addition) that totally makes my spring. The delicate silk works beautifully against the functional fabric of the jacket. As does the leather bag! Such a good subtle visual friction. And you’ve been hearing me parade about the white CAES t-shirt long enough. It’s been around and it still keeps giving! This look set me off for good things.
TOTEME dress & BASERANGE trousers

Story behind the look: I got this TOTEME dress when the brand was more affordable to me back in 2017 and it still fits snug as as a bug. Wish I had gotten it a little bigger, tight bodywear (unlike a jacket) is somewhat of a challenge postpartum. But this actually made me feel great and hugged. BASERANGE was also so worth it, these trousers get a lot of wear in summer, so don’t check the status of the hemlines too closely. I like these at CARMEN, slightly more forgiving.
Also I found a long necklace that I love! In my own closet! Now of course I would wear one with a silver pendant, but the doll makes it a little less predictable. This one is great too:
Threw in the Miller and Marc aviators to break the soft romantic / boho vibe that it brings. And someone said my jacket looks PRADA. Made my day <3
My take on the double tee:

Story behind the look: so I told you last week I would try to achieve something similar to
founder Charon Coojimans and her beautiful layering – and of course I tracked down her gorgeous wool cashmere t-shirt (that’s what tags are for!):Rhea really checks all my boxes: mindfully made, versatile and it matches the place I live in where it’s sunny one minute and freezing the next. Also the oversized fit is something even my worn-in Arket shirt can’t provide. It’s a different vibe and actual fabric. I still feel like I did pretty well and it was a good occasion to reconnect with my 2019 Mango trousers that I haven’t worn since Rudi was born. Sometimes a slightly more fitted wide leg, if that makes sense, is actually nice. Welcome back.
Tailored shorts and windbreaker + some colour

Story behind the look: here is the sun!! Suddenly we found ourselves at 24 degrees (that quickly faded the next day). This look is almost too pretty for me, too cleaned up. But it’s always good to wear something and then take that inner feedback and change things up for the next round. Different shoes might be it. The general temptation is to just wear a grey or white t-shirt with it and we can keep doing that forever! But I’m trying to make an effort towards more colour and I feel like the green works especially well in a sporty context. Usually I would go for a blazer - and that’s fun too!! - but I love how the rain jacket elevates the look while adding a bit of wit. That Jil Sander bag was a gift to myself after a specifically hectic Fashion Week and while I now mostly tend to my Georgia Jay bag, this lady needs to be taken out for summer. Also I adore the delicate woven tassel structure with the workout element of the jacket. The shorts used to be tapered long trousers and I took them in to actually use them again. Will wear them more this summer despite my legs being bruised all the time. That’s a kind of a mental training, too. Plus JOHANNA GAUDER necklace to make this feel grown-up and chic. It’s all in the details!
Neon windbreaker + white trousers

Story behind the look: after getting sucked into the Row-ness of windbreakers (so much for withstanding trends), this jacket got even more exciting. I literally just in this very moment discovered they sell one in acid yellow for 2800 euros. Well, lucky me (and a tad witchy)! A bit of a shapeshifter too as you can see, tuck it under for more volume / oversize energy. And although bright neon yellow is not the kindest on my sun shy skin – it’s a good non-fuzzy colour. Here is one on vinted and I like this red one by Tchibo (go BIG). The trick is to pair it with tailored pants, denim (especially casual fits) will make it look like you’re wearing this for practical reasons. You however are not.
The BALENCIAGA bag was a very smart reinvestment after in 2015 I made around 700 euros (!!) on vinted within a week. I wanted to have that money right where I can see it. Bold move! That canvas works really well in the athleisure enviroment though, I love a good amount of oddness.

This whole situation would be cooler with the strappy sandals or flip flops in red or a cream leather white (like these by AEYDE). But ballet flats with windbreaker are funny enough for me for today. The drugstore sunnies look better on me in a photo than IRL, but I’m not giving up on their idea yet. I wore this again the next day, with the layered tees from before and just can’t get over how nicely the woven bag squashes under the arm.
Here you go, one week of rethinking, repeating, trying to find the new in lately slightly unloved items. A lot from very recent years! It does make sense that we wear a lot of what we bought not too long ago, as that feels true to how our selves evolve, look and feel. But can we instead adapt our old clothes to our current needs and likings? Am I full of contradictions?
Well, I hope this plants some ideas for rekindling, as it did for me. Will be back next weekend with more re-fits xx
If you enjoyed this article, I appreciate it if you share TIDBTW with those who might like it too. Thank you so much <3
